Introduction

Understanding self and others is consider to be most crucial factor within the organisation success as it help in forming better strategies to align the business operations in right direction. A manager must have a clear understanding regarding the skills and capability that they poses and manner in which these can be used in order to implement them in right direction so that organisational objectives can be achieved. Despite of this a manager must also have a clear understanding regarding the skills and capability of its employees with whom they are working so that plans and strategies can be formulated in order to direct them toward enhancement of performance and accomplishment of organisational goals and objectives (Carnegie, 2017). In order to develop clear understanding psychological factors must be consider which support in determining the perception as well as action performed by an employee. Psychology is basically refer to the scientific study about how an individual think, behave and feel. By performing psychological evaluation it become easier to determine the culture that workers maintain at workplace and also support in determining the major cause behind happening of particular event. The psychological evaluation at workplace can be determined by making use of several approaches such as cognitive approach, behavioural approach and humanistic approach. Among them behavioural approach is one which suggest that the behaviour, working practices or performance of an employee get influenced by the stimuli that are present in the external environment as it have a direct influence over the behaviour of an employees as well as actions taken by them (Autesserre, 2014). Hence, by evaluating the performance of employees in different circumstance it become easier to determine the the skills and capability of employees and manner in which they can tackle the situation.

Despite of this, cognitive approach state that the behaviour of a person is being developed by the expectations as well as emotions that they hold in their mind toward the occurrence of particular event. Hence the employees behaviour can be measures by motivating them about the positive outcome of particular action that support in developing their focuses toward that action in order to achieve something. This will support in determining the factors that have the capability to influence the activities of an employees at workplace so that it can be used as a motivation factors in order to improve their performance so that accomplishment of organisational goals made possible with the accomplishment of their personal goals. Apart from this the humanistic approach is one which state that an individual become able to perform something when they feel good about themselves which support them in determining their actual potentials. This approach mainly focuses over empowering an individual by making them feel good so that they remain motivated (Mischel, DeSmet and Kross, 2014). In order to take out best from the employees manager required to focus over the environment in which employees work and try to keep them motivated by regularly appreciating them over their efforts so that they become able to determine potential to perform particular operation in effective manner.

What is the core skill?

According to the information presented by Ellis, P. and Bach, S., 2015, It has been analysed that the team working is refers to as a collaborative effort of group of people toward the accomplishment of particular goal. Team working skill is very crucial as it support in achieving goals in more efficient when the understanding, skills and talent of each individual being shared among the members. This support in performing a particular task in more effective and timely manner in comparison of those that are performed by a single individual at their own level.

Team working skills depict that employees who perform in a team get support and guidance from one another in term of their knowledge and skills. This shows clearly the importance of team management skills fro an individual as it support them in performing operations in more productive and effective manner in coordination. My main reason behind choosing this skills is that it support me in performing my operation's in effective manner while interacting people having different skills and knowledge which also support me in improving m,y skills or capability. In addition to this the stress of work also get reduce while working with group of people. This release of stress motivate me in performing well and enhancing my productivity which in turn help in achieving the organisational goals and objective in pre-specified time.

As per my personal evaluation it has been identified that my team working skills are good as I am quite good in communicating with others. With the help of this it become quite easier for me to influence the interest of my team mates and also make them work as per my guidance. This support me in performing the operations with team members in more effective manner that contribute toward the accomplishment of organisational goals and objectives. In addition to this my seniors also told me I work in a comfort zone while performing actions within a team which shows my capability of handling and managing work with team. But this sometimes affect the performance of my team mates as comfort zone which I provide to them sometimes not let them to perform work in effective manner.

 

Can you identify any contradictions, or allowable weaknesses from your analysis?

I have identified that my team member and superiors believe that I am quite good within team working skills but as per my evaluation I personally identified that at the time of corporate meeting I found difficulties in managing with team members. It is so because I think that strong communication skills are just not enough for effective team work rather it also require some patience for long term sustainability. In addition to this it is also required to keep team mates align with their goals and rigid targets so that objectives get accomplished in timely manner.

 

How will this skill help me in the future? (use references to support your argument)

Strong team working skills support in performing even complex projects in effective manner as without the support of team members it is not possible to perform operations in effective manner (Cottrell, 2015). This is because a team, consist of group of people where each employees is different in term of their understanding, skills and knowledge which when shared and integrated effectively support in dealing with problems in effective manner.

J. and Lull, J., 2014, public speaking is basically refer to the capability of an individual to confront larger number of people while communicating about something. My emphasize toward developing this skills is so because it will support in presenting my vies and perception among larger number of people in more clear manner so that my aim behind conversation can get accomplished.

Why is this core skill important? (use relevant theories and concepts to support your answer)

Public speaking is consider to be most crucial skills for an individual who works within a multinational organisation as they have to go through several meetings whose agenda is to develop understanding among other members regarding particular issues or project. I am aspiring to become a part of MNC in near future so public speaking will support me in performing well and achieving the desired goals.

How competent are you currently? (use your tool-kit findings, feedback from peers and your tutor, plus your own reflections on your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to answer this question)

From my evaluation it has been identified that I feel quite nervous while communicating in front of larger number of people. At the time of corporate meeting I found that I even get hesitated to introduce my self in front of panel members which is also an embarrassing thing happen that clearly depict that I required to work on overcoming this issue.

 

Can you identify any contradictions, or allowable weaknesses from your analysis?

As per the evaluation I performed, I felt that my public speaking skills are quite weak but on other hand my team members said that even I'm not good at this skills still when it come to team discussion I am good at providing and making it understood to team members. As my team members be able to connect themselves with my views as well as after discussion.

 

How will this skill help me in the future? (use references to support your argument)

Improvement in public speaking skills will support me in fulfilling my dream of working in MNC as after developing this skill I would be able to get more preference fro the company's side. This support me in getting selecting for particular job as compare to other individual as well as it also support me in grabbing good business opportunity in future as well.

According to the view point of Sims, S., Hewitt, G. and Harris, R., 2015, feedback are consider to be the most essential part of an organisational progress as it help in determining the outcome of particular action along with the mistakes that get happened within that action. Feedback giving is basically an ability of a person to present their experience in order to make the listeners more clear about the strength and weaknesses which are required to be improve for performing well.

Why is this core skill important? (use relevant theories and concepts to support your answer)

Feedback giving and taking is most crucial skill which is required to be develop as it help in identifying the weak points for improving them (Travers, Morisano and Locke, 2015). I put emphases over this skill is that it support me in representing my true thought against performance exert by team members so that they would be able to get adjusted with required improvement. This further help me in improving the overall performance of my team mates.

 

How competent are you currently? (use your tool-kit findings, feedback from peers and your tutor, plus your own reflections on your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to answer this question)

From the evaluation I determined that I use to provide right feedback to my team mates in a manner that they get clear with the main issue in their work. But I found that I use to provide positive feedback only for motivating them and I am quite weak in determining the negative points or weaknesses which are crucial to determine in order to improve their working performance.

Can you identify any contradictions, or allowable weaknesses from your analysis?

From my evaluation and gathering information from colleagues it has been found that I provide only positive feedback to my team mates when they ask to me. But I personally believe that this is not right as employees may think they are perfect in their work which may affect their productivity or enhance the chance of error. Therefore I required to improve my skills.

 

How will this skill help me in the future? (use references to support your argument)

By improving my feedback giving skills it would become more easier for me to direct the performance of my employees in right direction. In addition to this I would also become able to introduce my team mates with the weaknesses they are having so that timely measures can be taken into consideration for overcoming those weaknesses. This will support me in enhancing the level of performance of my team mates that further contribute toward accomplishment of organisational goals and objectives.

Strengths: As per my personal evaluation I have determined that communication skills of mine are quite good as I am out spoken, love to interact with people and also don't hesitate while talking with people. Along with this I got some feedbacks from my colleagues who stated that they get a clear understanding of my thoughts and ideas while discussion which support them in performing well. Despite of this, my colleagues also said that I am a good listener as I listen to them and try to understand their situation in order to suggest them right things so that employees become able to perform their work in effective manner.

Weakness:- By performing my personal evaluation it has been found that though I am good at communication skills but still I found difficulty in public speaking at the time of corporate meetings which affect my presentation in front of panel members. Despite of this, I am also not good in presenting the negative feedback to team mates in order to introduce them with their weakness so that they get overcome on timely manner so that appropriate outcome can be achieved. On other side I am good at communicating with team mates but not good at managing their task or aligning them toward their gaols which is required to be improve in order to achieve better performance from their side as I held responsible for their success or failure.

These skills are required to be improve which can be perform with the help of formulating effective personal development plan as it support in determining several actions to be taken in order to improve the skills along with time in order to improve them. These actions are more realistic and will start doing this from my next task which support me in improving my team management skills.

This improvement will be measures by my team mates when they get introduce them weaknesses they have that are required to improve for better performance.

These are realistic as it help me in determining the basic factor behind inappropriate performance of team members so that I can guide them over improvement.

These action are relevant to skills as it help in determining the strength and weakness of employees which support in presenting feedback in more effective manner.
